First and foremost, my goal when teaching students is for them to have
fun playing the violin! I strive to teach all my students to understand,
appreciate and master basic principles of violin playing. In conjunction
with the Suzuki method, students also study supplementary etudes/exercises
and pieces. I require every student to learn notereading because the skill
provides the student with the ability to learn new pieces on their own,
and with independence from their teacher.
I strive to recognize and adjust to each student's personality, their
physical and mental makeup, and their approach to the instrument and to
music. By adjusting to individual student needs and not rigidly adhering
to predefined techniques I provide a flexible environment that promotes
the unique talents and strengths each student has.
All ages are welcome. I have experience teaching students from the age
of 6 to the age of 60. Lessons are offered in 30 minute or 60 minute time
slots. Resume and references are available on request.
